Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival your driver will wait for you at the airport. He will bring you to your hotel Colours Oasis, this retreat is strategically located on the stately Boulevard Rohrmoser, conveniently less than 15 minutes from San Jose’s cultural districts and other popular neighborhoods on the west side where you will be able to find great restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Day 2: San Jose

Today you will have a day to relax after your flight and explore the city of San Jose. Strolling through the city you will find Costa Rica’s National Theather, the Gold museum, Jade museum and many shops and restaurants. You can also choose to head out for your first adventure and make a day tour to the Poas Volcano and/or La Paz Waterfall garden.

Day 3: The Caribbean Coast

Today you will head to your first destination, located on the Caribbean Coast: Puerto Viejo. A shared shuttle will pick you up from Colours in San Jose and will drop you off at the beautiful Banana Azul. Banana Azul is a very popular Gay-owned hotel, located right on the deserted Black Beach. The owners are very welcoming and will make sure to give you the best service possible.

The small village of Puerto Viejo is vibrant and there is always something happening; live music, many great restaurants and a night of dancing underneath the stars with your feet in the Caribbean sand will add to the Caribbean feeling…


Day 4: Puerto Viejo

A fun thing to do in Puerto Viejo is to rent a bike and start cycling along the coastline. You are able to rent bikes from the front desk for just $5 a day.
Once you start cycling towards Manzanillo, you will pass by the Jaguar Rescue Center. This center is a great place to visit as you will be able to see the animals from very close. They are open 2 times a day; 09:30 and 11:30 for a tour and has an entrance fee cost of $20 per person. By visiting the Jaguar Rescue Center, your donation will go directly to caring for our rainforest guests.

Once you passed the Jaguar Rescue Center, you will find the stunning beaches of Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva and all the way in the end Manzanillo. Each of these beaches offer great calm waters for swimming and snorkeling!


Day 5: Cahuita National Park

A full day in Puerto Viejo and around. Within a 20-minute bus drive you will find Cahuita National Park. The local bus is easy to catch and only costs a couple of dollars per person. This park is easy to walk on your own and you will see lots of monkeys, sloths, snakes, raccoons, birds and many more species! The park is also located next to the beautiful beach of Cahuita so don’t forget your swimwear to take a refreshing dip in the ocean

Day 6: Pacuare River Rafting

Today it’s time for adventure as you will head towards the volcano by rafting the Pacuare River. The tour includes professional guides, breakfast, lunch and will drop you off at your hotel in La Fortuna. As you come closer to La Fortuna you will see the perfectly shaped active Arenal Volcano from a distance. For the next two nights your hotel will be Arenal Manoa; a beautiful gay-friendly lodge with spacious rooms and you own private terrace with a great view of the Arenal Volcano. You can relax in the Jacuzzi, swimming pool, stroll around the lodge in search for birds, monkeys and sloths or just enjoy the wonderful view of the majestic Arenal volcano.

Day 7: Arenal Volcano and surroundings

More adventure awaits as today you can choose to go zip-lining or take a hike over the Hanging Bridges of La Fortuna. You choose as either one will be included for you today with transportation and professional guides!

In the afternoon you can also opt for a visit at Baldi Hotsprings. These pools are heated straight from the volcano and invite for some relaxation..We can arrange this for you including a delicious dinner buffet!


Day 8: On to the Pacific Coast

In the morning you will be picked up to head to the Pacific Coast: Ojochal. On your way here, you will drive by Rio Tarcoles. Here you will find the biggest population of crocodiles in Central America! A lot of fun to see these pre-historic animals from above. Some of them are as big as 5 meters long!

You will be staying at the beautiful Alma de Ojochal, offering stunning views of the Terraba river, Garza Island and the Pacific ocean. It is time to sit back and relax..


Day 9: Ojochal and surroundings

Today you can choose to just relax and enjoy a cocktail at the pool or go out and explore. Ojochal offers many great activities like horseback riding, rappelling through waterfalls, walking the whale’s tail in Ballena Park, snorkeling or diving at Cano Island, ATV treks and sea kayaking..

The onsite Bamboo Restaurant offers fabulous fresh cuisine and the best nightly live entertainment from North America and Costa Rica.


Day 10: Manuel Antonio

Today you will be picked up for a short drive to Manuel Antonio, a place where you will not get bored. The beaches are breathtaking, the National Park full of wildlife like sloths and monkeys and the sunsets are spectacular!

For the next three nights, you will be staying at the luxurious gay-friendly Gaia. A 5 star Eco-friendly resort with great service and spectacular modern amenities to enjoy. Fine dining is available at their on-site restaurant as well as 24/7 room service, a luxurious spa, gym and pool.


Day 11: Manuel Antonio National Park

A full day in Manuel Antonio today. We suggest to visit the National Park and make sure you get there early as this time of year it can be very warm and the animals are most active early morning. The national park opens at 7 am and guides offer their services at the park’s entrance. You don’t need a guide as the trails are very accessible and well-marked. For sure you will see a lot of wildlife! Don’t forget to bring your swim gear as the crystal clear Pacific waters will invite you for a dip!

Day 12: Trimaran Sailing & Snorkeling

To finish your vacation with a big bang, we included a sailing & snorkeling trip for you. You will board a trimaran to spot the dolphins and sometimes even whales, go snorkeling, and food and drinks are included! A great way to spend your afternoon! Surfing, deep sea fishing or diving are other options for water lovers, but if you like to keep it dry you can just relax at the beach or the pool at your resort.

Day 17: San Jose

Today you will head back to San Jose to spend one more night at Colours Oasis before your flight back home. You can choose to be picked up in the morning or in the afternoon, just let us know your preference.

Day 18: Back home

You will be picked up by your driver for a transfer to the airport in time for your flight out, back home.

The trip starts off in San Jose where you will have a day to explore the city: many great restaurants, shops and nightlife are located close to your Boutique Hotel.

From San Jose you will first head to the Caribbean Coast: Puerto Viejo. You will be staying at the very beloved Hotel Banana Azul. From here you will be able to explore the coastline by bike, visit the National Park of Cahuita and go for some dancing with your feet in the sand..

Then it is time for some adventure as you will go river rafting on the populair Pacuare River. Professional guides will guide you through the rapids and breakfast and lunch will be included during this exciting day.

Once you arrive in Arenal, you will have some time to relax, but not for long! The next day you will have a Canopy or Hanging Bridges Tour included, you choose your favorite. You can end your day at the Baldi Hot Springs to relax your muscles, or just enjoy the beautiful view of the volcano from your room.

From La Fortuna we will take you to the Pacific Coast. You will be staying at the little town of Ojochal for the next two nights. Here you can just sit back and relax, or go out and explore one of the many great sites on your own.

Your last destination will be Manuel Antonio. We made sure to safe the best for last as the Gaia Resort will not disappoint. Here you can relax and will have some time to explore the Manuel Antonio National Park in search for monkey’s, sloths, raccoons and many other animals. To end your vacation with a big bang, we included a Trimaran Sailing & Snorkeling Tour for you..
