Day 2: To the Pacific Coast

Today your rental car will arrive at 8 am at your hotel in San Jose. Your car will be a 4×4 for the rest of your trip, including basic insurance as well as two drivers and free miles. Once you received the car, you will head to the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. While on the road, you will pass by Rio Tarcoles. This river is amazing to make a stop as here you can see the largest population of giant crocodiles in Central America!! If you like to, you can even make a boat excursion on this river to see these creatures from up close. We can make a reservation for this tour, which also includes lunch.

Your final destination for today will be the little town of Uvita, where you will spend your next three nights at La Cusinga Lodge. A special place, tucked away in the private reserve of Uvita de Osa. This rainforest lodge provides guests with sweeping Pacific ocean views, sandy beaches, natural pools, and the chance to experience the burgeoning forests and astonishing wildlife of the country’s most famous ecosystem, Osa.

Day 3: Uvita and Surroundings

From the hotel you can explore the grounds, take a hike in the rainforest, find the swimming holes in the river, take a trail down to Arco Beach. Bird watching around the hotel, enjoy a Yoga Class, a day at the Cinnamon Spa or relax with a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

You can also adenture into the many tours that are offered in this zone; from Whale watching, snorkeling, a surfing lesson, a kayak tour in the ocean or the mangroves to a horseback ride at the beach and to the waterfall.

4

Day 4: Corcovado National Park

Today you will be able to visit Bahia Ballena National Park. The name Bahia Ballena (Whale Bay) is to honor the yearly arriving of whales to the region; these impressive mammals can be easily seen year after year when they come to mate and give birth to their calves. An other amazing National Park not to be missed is Corcovado National Park. Corcovado National Park is the habitat of tapirs, toucans, scarlet macaws, coatis, agoutis and the four Costa Rican species of monkeys. National Geographic stated that Corcovado National Park contains the most intense biodiversity in the world!
5

Day 5: On to San Gerardo de Dota

On to your next destination today; San Gerardo de Dota in the middle of the cloud forest. The next two nights you will be staying at the Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge, situated high in the mountains of the Talamanca mountain range. Day 9: On to the Rainforest of Sarapiqui

On your way to the Caribbean Coast, you will have a one night stop at the rainforest of Sarapiqui. This will break up your long drive and gives you the chance to visit this unique location. For one night you will be staying at the Sarapiquis Lodge. A beautiful lodge, situated in the middle of the rainforest.
11

Day 10: On to the Caribbean Coast

A nice drive today to the Caribbean beaches. As you will drive past the city of Limon, you will see the clear waters of the Southern Caribbean and you will notice a difference in the way of living by the colorful houses, the Rasta dreads, the reggae music and the overall relaxed vibe that differentiates the Southern Caribbean from any other place in Costa Rica.

For your next three nights, you will be staying at one of our favorite lodges that Costa Rica has to offer; The Tree House Lodge. The complex is located on a 10 acre ocean front property, in the famous Punta Uva Beach, just south of Puerto Viejo. Total privacy, a natural tranquil atmosphere, and full relaxation are keywords for the time you will spend at the tree house. A perfect final destination for your Costa Rican vacation.

12

Day 11: Puerto Viejo and surroundings

A full day in Puerto Viejo and around. Within a 20-minute drive you will find Cahuita National Park. This park is easy to walk on your own and you will see lots of monkeys, sloths, snakes, raccoons, birds and many more species!
The coast line spreads out from Cahuita all the way to Manzanillo Gandoca; into the Amistad national park. The beaches invite for sunbathing and the different bays each offer another activity; surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddling and swimming.
13

Day 12: Puerto Viejo and surroundings

One of the most fun things to do in Puerto Viejo is to rent a bike and start cycling along the coastline. You are able to rent bikes pretty much everywhere in town for just $5 a day.
Once you start cycling towards Cocles, you will pass by the Jaguar Rescue Center. This center is a great place to visit as you will be able to see the animals from very close. They are open 2 times a day; 09:30 and 11:30 for a tour and has an entrance fee cost of $20 per person. By visiting the Jaguar Center, your donation will go directly to caring for our rainforest guests
13

Day 13: Back to San Jose

Today you will head back to San Jose to spend one more night before your flight back home.
14

Day 14: Back home
