Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival your driver will wait for you at the airport. He will bring you to your hotel downtown San Jose where you will spend your first night. Your hotel offers comfortable rooms and is located nearby many great restaurants and shops.

Day 2: On to the Volcano

Today your rental car will arrive at 8 am at your hotel in San Jose. Your car will be a 4×4 for the rest of your trip, including basic insurance as well as two drivers and free miles. Once you received the car, you will head to La Fortuna, at the slopes of the Arenal volcano. As you come closer to La Fortuna you will see the perfectly shaped active Arenal Volcano from a distance. For the next two nights your hotel will be Nayara Springs.

Nayara Springs is a new ultra-exclusive boutique hotel located in the Arenal Volcano National Park, host to one of the world’s highest concentration of tropical plants and wildlife. Day 3: Arenal and surroundings

Today you’ll have the whole day to discover the area. There is a lot to do here: a boat ride over the Cano Negro river, hanging bridges, hot springs, the waterfall of La Fortuna…

Day 4: Arenal and surroundings

Another day at this amazing hotel. Relax by your personal plunge pool or visit one of the many hot springs in the area!

Day 5: On to the Pacific Coast

Today you will drive to the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. While on the road, you will pass by Rio Tarcoles. This river is amazing to make a stop as here you can see the largest population of giant crocodiles in Central America!! If you like to, you can even make a boat excursion on this river to see these creatures from up close. We can make a reservation for this tour, which also includes lunch.

Your final destination for today will be the little town of Uvita, or also known as Costa Rica’s ‘Whale Tale’. You will be spending your last three nights at the amazing Rancho Pacifico. Costa Rica at it’s finest – romantic, amazing and unforgettable.

Don’t just be an observer, live it!….at rancho pacifico you are one with an amazing tropical wilderness teeming with wildlife, waterfalls, flowers, medicinal plants and over 300 resident bird species. The mountain top location offers one-of-a-kind views of 2000 square miles of blue Pacific while immersing you in a real, thriving rainforest.

Day 6: Uvita and surroundings

There is something to do for everyone here with many nature and adventure activities on and off shore. Baru Reserve and Ballena National Park are the two nearest nature reserves.

Nature watching is a must and besides the hundreds of species of birds, including toucans and parrots you may also observe dolphins, whales, sea turtles. Other exotic wildlife spotted in the area includes coatis, anteaters, giant iguanas, four types of native monkeys, three toed sloths and various small cats such as jaguarundis.

From the lodge you can set off horseback riding on the beaches or through the mountain rainforest trails leading to hidden waterfalls or you can choose to go on a hike, go sport fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, snorkeling, scuba diving or surfing…to name just a few of the many activities to do in this stunning area!

Day 7: Corcovado National Park

Today you can opt for a visit to the crown jewel of the Costa Rican national parks system; Corcovado National Park. The lodge offers guided tours through the park that will take you on a 1 hour ride to the entrance of the park where you will continue by foot along the beach. There are many different hiking trails through the primary rainforest, and the chance of seeing some rare animals like ocelots, tapirs, jagarundis and peccaries is bigger than anywhere else in Costa Rica. This is an all day trip that includes an Enlish Speaking guide as well as lunch. Space is limited in the park, so it is important to let us know if you would like to take this tour

Day 8: San Jose

Today you will head back to San Jose to spend one more night before your flight back home.

Day 9: Back home

It is time to go home..In time for your flight back home you will head back to the airport of San Jose to drop off your car rental and check in for your flight.

Starting off at the exclusive Nayara Springs, you will have three full days to just sit back and relax. From your own plunge pool, you will have an incredible view of the Arenal Volcano. If you would like to go out and explore, no problem as there are many fun things to do around the volcano. Go on a hike to the La Fortuna Waterfall, take an exciting canopy tour or visit one of the many hot springs in the area.

The last part of your trip will be on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica; Ranco Pacifico, located in the small little town of Uvita. You might not even want to leave this beautiful hotel, but if you do, you can opt for a tour through the National Parks of Marino Ballena or Corcovado…
